Four School Records Fall For Women's Track at SPIRE Collegiate Games

GENEVA, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure women's track team registered four new school records on another stellar day for the program at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games.

In the 5000 meters, sophomore Jenna Gregory smashed her previous PR of 19:06 set a week prior when she ran a mark of 18:47.40, good for a new school record. The previous benchmark of 18:58.62 was set by Claire Cuneo last year.

Freshman Meghan Lex starred again in the mile where she broke her own school record that had stood for just a week. Last week at Youngstown State, she clocked in at 5:10.63, while this time around she bettered that by nearly three full seconds as she finished in 5:07.77. Lex placed fifth out of 75 competitors in Saturday's race, just over five seconds off the winning time.

Sophomore Mia Winters continues to establish new school marks in the 3000 meters where she wrote a new school best for the third time this season. Saturday, she clocked in at 10:32.53, over four seconds faster than her previous school record posted a week ago. She placed eighth out of 73 runners in the top 3K race of the day.

The Bonnies saw big gains across the board for their athletes in the 800 meters – and another new school record.

Sophomore Adria Magnusson broke her own school record set last week at YSU as she posted a time of 2:23.64, just beating her run of 2:24.01 seven days prior. Also in the event, sophomore Faith Caldwell ran 2:24.87, almost three seconds better than her previous PR, with a run that stands second individually in school history for the event. Also turning in new PRs were freshman Elise Brooks (2:33.86) and sophomore Georgia Hanley (2:34.36), both new top 10 program times as well.

Freshman Katelyn Wilkes became the second Bonnie to break the 11-minute mark in the 3000 meters as she crossed the finish line at 10:58.54 to jump to second in school history. Sophomore Molly Gipson moves to third with a new PR of 11:07.26.

Also in the 5000, Jayne Gavin advances to fourth on the Bonnies leaderboard as she bested her previous top time by nearly 25 seconds (20:06.95).

Junior Camryn Cwiklinski moved up to third in the program record book in the 400 meters with her run of 1:05.66.

The Bonnies are back in competition again with split squad action next week with part of the team competing at the Nazareth Conference Tune-Up Meet Friday night and the rest of the team taking part in the Denault Invitational at Cornell on Saturday.
