QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH BOB MACFARLANE
"The team delivered a strong and encouraging performance highlighted by record-breaking efforts, championship qualifiers, and continued development from both veterans and freshmen.
"Leading the way was senior Casey Malloy, who turned in a standout performance in the 5,000 meters, setting a new school record. His race was a great example of experience, patience, and competitive toughness, and it set the tone for the rest of the group."
"In the sprints, freshman Cam Ogletree continued to show his desire and enthusiasm to compete. His progression each time out has been impressive, and his energy and competitive mindset have been a real boost to the team early in the season."
"The middle-distance group also had an excellent day, led by Josh Lopez and Nate Sikorski, who both qualified for the A-10 Championships in the mile. Lopez added to his day by also qualifying in the 1,000 meters, highlighting his versatility and strength. Freshman Brendan Steele made a strong statement in the 800 meters, earning a spot among the program's top 10 all-time performers, a great achievement early in his collegiate career."
"Additionally, Layne Haught put together two strong races in the mile and the 3,000 meters, showing consistency, strength, and the ability to compete across events. Overall, the men's performance at Bucknell reflected steady progress, competitive maturity, and a commitment to building toward peak performances later in the indoor season. The combination of leadership from upperclassmen and impactful contributions from younger athletes makes this a promising step forward for the program."
