The GoBonnies.com Student-Athletes of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending April 12 are men's track junior William McCarthy and women's lacrosse senior Brit Colangelo.
McCarthy established a new school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase on Saturday at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic.
In Saturday's event, he ran a time of 9:28.33 to break his own record of 9:31.61 which was established at last year's Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championships.
Colangelo continued her outstanding season defensively for the Bonnies as she helped the team score a key Atlantic 10 win on the road at George Mason last weekend. In the contest, she totaled three caused turnovers and three groundballs as the Bonnies stifled the Patriots, 16-8.
For the year, Colangelo leads the Atlantic 10 in caused turnovers with 34 while ranking 24th among all Division I players. She also stands second in the A-10 in groundballs and has helped key a defense that ranks 34th nationally by allowing 9.6 goals per game.
