The GoBonnies.com Female Athlete of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Oct. 3 is women's tennis freshman Alexandra Jansson.

Jansson shined for the Bonnies women’s tennis team at the ITA Regionals last Friday and Saturday in Philadelphia, advancing to the round of 32.

A native of Mariestad, Sweden, Jansson kicked off her tournament with a straight set, 6-2, 6-4, victory over Niagara's Elena Mayet. She began Saturday's competition with another straight set win, this time over Jenny Wong of Cornell, 7-6, 6-4.

The Bonnies are back in action Oct. 15 at the Army Invitational.
