Chris Blocher, an Olean native, capped a stellar golf career with a runner-up finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship his senior season, earning All-Conference honors. A four-year mainstay in the lineup, Blocher led the Bonnies in scoring average both his junior (76.1) and senior (75.6) seasons and was a two-year team captain.Â
He has also excelled in amateur competition, making the round of 16 at the New York State Amateur three times and winning the Southwestern New York-Northwestern Pennsylvania Men’s Amateur in 1997, 1999, 2007 and 2010. Blocher became a physical education teacher and the girls basketball coach at nearby Hinsdale Central High School following graduation from St. Bonaventure.
