St. Bonaventure

Rev. James Dolan, O.F.M. is esteemed as the founder of St. Bonaventure University athletics.

An avid baseball fan, he was inaugurated a program with three teams from each of the four classes.The rivalries became intense, and in good weather at least one game was played each day.

Soon, a team representing the college began to play off campus, and intercollegiate competition began.
