Chris Post came to Bona's from nearby Lakewood, N.Y. and left his mark on the program as one of the top Bonnies men's tennis players in SBU's Atlantic 10 era.
During his Bonaventure career, Post was hailed as a three-time Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference selection while holding down the No. 1 singles spot on the team for three of his four seasons, also being named a team captain three times.
A standout in both singles and doubles, he rose to No. 14 in the final ITA Northeast Regional rankings along with teammate Jon Luce in 2009.
His effort in the 2009 Atlantic 10 Tournament stands as one of the most dramatic matches in program history as he rallied from down 5-2 in the third and final set on match point to earn a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (3) victory and clinch the game-winning point over George Washington to send the Bonnies to the A-10 Championship final.
Following the match, he required two bags of IV fluids at a local hospital following cramps but returned the next day for finals, splitting the first two sets vs. Xavier before the match was called when the Musketeers clinched the winning point as the Bonnies finished the season as the A-10 runners-up.
That type of resilience led Bonnies head coach Michael Bates to tout Post as "the most dedicated and hardest working player I've ever had the privilege of coaching."
Post also won the Atlantic 10's Sporting Award in 2009 for excellence and sportsmanship.
