MacDougall made an immediate impact on the Bonaventure women's soccer program, starting from the first game of her freshman season. The Burlington, Ontario native enjoyed an impressive rookie year with six goals, two of which earned the Bonnies Atlantic 10 wins.

MacDougall scored four goals and added three assists her sophomore season, but it was her third year that she really became known as a premier player. In September of 2004, she tied two school records when she scored four goals and totaled nine points in a win over St. Peter's. That game was a springboard to a season in which MacDougall led the Atlantic 10 in goals, with 15, and points, with 34. She is the only A-10 player ever to lead the conference in both categories in a season. MacDougall was recognized by the A-10's coaches with first team All-Conference honors and she also became the first St. Bonaventure player named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region Team.

As a senior, MacDougall earned All-Atlantic 10 accolades again after tallying a team-high 24 points on 11 goals and two assists. MacDougall's 36 career goals and 83 points rank third and fourth, respectively, all-time in the Bona record books.

MacDougall graduated in 2006 with a degree in psychology. She is now a teacher and coach in her native Ontario.
