Peter Van Paasen stood at 6-foot-11 and was a fan favorite in the Reilly Center for his work ethic and outgoing nature. He helped the men’s basketball team to three postseason berths over his four seasons in the Brown and White – NITs in 1998 and 2001 and the NCAA Tournament in 2000.Â
Even after a senior year which ended prematurely due to an injury, he finished his career with 978 points and a .500 field goal percentage.  He also made the Dean’s List in all eight semesters and earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Â
Since leaving Bona’s, he enjoyed a long and productive professional basketball career in Europe, including a stint on the Dutch National Team.
