Mark Evers was an accomplished athlete and student whose leadership pushed St. Bonaventure baseball to the top of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

A two-year team captain and a four-year starting shortstop, the Troy, N.Y., native held a career batting average of .316. He also hit 19 career home runs, which ranked eighth all-time at Bona at the time of his induction. As a junior in 2000, he batted .364 with nine home runs and 40 RBI and was voted to the A-10 All-Conference team after he led the Bonnies to the A-10 regular season title. He also earned All-Tournament honors at the A-10 championship. Although his senior season was hampered by an injury, Evers still hit .292 with seven home runs.

A finance major, he earned Academic All-Conference honors twice and was selected a GTE/ College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-American in 2000.

Evers graduated in 2001 with a degree in finance. He returned to Bona's in 2002 and spent three seasons an assistant coach. In 2004, Evers helped St. Bonaventure capture the A-10 championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
