Kim Dodson brought more than just her bat to the lineup – longtime coach Mike Threehouse called her the best defensive first baseman in the history of St. Bonaventure softball. To this day, the Tonawanda, N.Y., native is considered one of the best all-around players the program has ever seen. Her records back up that claim.

A four-year starter, Dodson’s 166 career hits ranked second all-time at Bona’s at the time of her induction, and her career batting average of .350 stood fourth-best. Her junior year of 2004, Dodson hit .429, a mark that stands second in program history and led to her first All-Conference recognition. As a senior, Dodson led the Bonnies to their first A-10 postseason berth.  In the field, Dodson was charged with only 10 errors in 980 chances during her career.

A business management major, Dodson was equally accomplished in her studies. Her junior season of 2004, she was selected the Atlantic 10 Softball Student-Athlete of the Year as well as named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America team. Dodson made the Atlantic 10’s Academic All-Conference Team three times, and was selected an Academic All-American again her senior year.

Dodson graduated magna cum laude with a degree in business management.
