The fifth all-time leading scorer in St. Bonaventure University women’s basketball history with 1,017 (1977-1981) at the time of her induction, she still ranks 21st in career scoring as of 2021.
Lynch led the team in scoring twice with an average of 14.2 ppg (1977-1978) and 12.4 ppg (1978-1979).
She was the captain for two seasons (1979-1980, 1980-1981) and was named WSBU Female Athlete of the Year (1981).
After attending Erie's Villa Maria Academy, Lynch was a walk-on at St. Bonaventure and earned a scholarship before her sophomore season. She was a shooting guard with a nice outside touch. It was the era before the 3-point field goal, or she might have posted a much higher point total.
Lynch’s teams were 53-26 (.670) during her career. She also starred for the softball team.
In years following graduation, she enjoyed great success as an NCAA official, beginning in 1987 until her retirement in 2020. In 1998, she started to officiate in bigger leagues, such as the ACC. A year later, she decided to pursue college basketball officiating as a full-time job.
Along the way, Lynch has officiated some memorable games. She was a referee during UConn’s record-setting 89th consecutive win in 2010. She has officiated in the Pan American Games and in NCAA Regionals, including at least one game featuring powerhouse Tennessee and legendary coach Pat Summitt.
In 1991, she became the first female member of the St. Bonaventure Hall of Fame. Four years later, she was inducted into the Metro Erie Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
Lynch, pictured with Director of Athletics Joe Manhertz, had her No. 22 jersey recognized in the Reilly Center rafters in a ceremony honoring both she and Hilary Waltman in 2023.
