St. Bonaventure

As teammates for four seasons at St. Bonaventure, Mikko Haulos and Vili Nurmi led the Bonnies men's tennis program to unprecedented heights. Behind the duo from Finland, St. Bonaventure won its only two Atlantic 10 Championship titles and advanced to the NCAA Championships in both 2001 and 2003.

With Haulos and Nurmi leading the way, the Bonnies also achieved their only two appearances in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) regional rankings – No. 13 in 2001 and No. 15 in 2002.

Nurmi was a four-time All-Atlantic 10 selection and was named the conference’s Most Outstanding Rookie in 2000 and Most Outstanding Performer in 2001. In each of his four seasons, he was ranked among the region’s best as a doubles player by the ITA– topping out at No. 6 with Mario Arce in 2002.

He also partnered with Haulos for a No. 15 ranking among regional doubles teams in 2000.
