Hall of Fame
One of the top freestyle sprinters ever in St. Bonaventure’s prolific swimming program, Garvin Ferguson represented his native Bahamas in the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.
At the time of his induction, he was still the only Bonaventure swimmer to ever qualify for the Olympics.
Perhaps even more impressively, he qualified for the 1988 NCAA Championships as a part of the 400 Freestyle Relay along with teammates Chris Malott, John Thurling, and Jay Triepel.
That same relay also won the Eastern Intercollegiate Championship in 1988, helping St. Bonaventure win the Eastern Title. Ferguson also set the school record in the 200 freestyle.
