Hall of Fame
One of the most outstanding players in the baseball program’s history, Bennett helped elevate the Bonnies into a regular contender for postseason play.
At the time of his induction, he was the only St. Bonaventure baseball player to earn Atlantic 10 All-Conference accolades three times – 1993, 1994, and 1995.
His .365 career batting average remains the school record. In 1994 as a junior, he hit a career-best .383 which still stands top-10 in program history, posting 16 doubles along the way, another Bona's top-10 best in a single season. The infielder also ranks among the program’s all-time leaders in hits (194), RBI (138), slugging percentage (.553), runs (121), home runs (18), and doubles (42).
He helped lead the Bonnies to their first berth in the Atlantic 10 Tournament in 1994 and a repeat appearance in 1995.
Bennett went on to a career in Minor League Baseball and also a respected teacher and coach.
